In 2023, the Drugs Control General of India (DCGI) introduced a significant regulatory change, mandating that the top 300 popular medicine brands must feature QR codes for product identification. This regulation affects both local and international manufacturers, requiring detailed information like the drug’s name, manufacturer’s details, batch number, expiry dates and manufacturing license number.
